Job summary

StepStone is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support investor communications for multiple private equity funds. You will prepare quarterly reports, market commentary, capital calls and distributions, and client communications with a focus on accuracy.

The role requires solid understanding of investment markets, strong financial writing and Excel skills; experience with pivot tables and Adobe Acrobat is a plus. A bachelor’s degree and at least one year in financial services are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business preferred.
• One+ year of related financial services experience required (private equity, investment banking, or planning and analysis a plus).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (writing sample required).
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables; experience with Adobe Acrobat
• Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence and adaptability.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Follow up skills and acute attention to accuracy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create investor correspondence for several private equity and venture capital funds; deliverables will include detailed quarterly reports, market commentary, capital calls and distributions, as well as various ad hoc client communications.
• Obtain and review quarterly reports, financial statements, and schedules of investments (SOIs) for underlying fund investments.
• Update and utilize data models to create charts and content for various periodic and ad hoc presentations.
• Attend performance update calls and prepare summaries across an array of private equity general partner relationships.
• Utilize proprietary and external databases to prepare analyses and complete ad-hoc requests.
• Ad hoc projects (e.g., tracking private market benchmark information, updating of performance data, assisting in tracking underlying fund level capital call/distribution schedules and other administrative activities).
• Coordinate with internal departments, such as fund accounting, tax, compliance and legal related to fund communication approvals and/or investor inquiries.

Position Overview

StepStone is looking for a detailed-orientated individual who will work for a team that manages investor communications for numerous private equity funds and fund-of-funds. The person should have a solid understanding of investment and private equity markets and strong financial writing skills.
