Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an Investor Relations professional to monitor capital markets activity and synthesize actionable insights for senior management. You will coordinate investor events and support external communications.

The role requires advanced Excel/PowerPoint, familiarity with market data platforms, and a hands-on approach to investor relations in a non-remote, onsite San Diego setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/business/economics (or equivalent proficiency).
  • 2+ years relevant IR/corporate finance/sell-side/buy-side experience, preferably biopharma.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor/analyze capital markets activity and synthesize actionable insights for senior management.
  • Assist with external investor communications (press releases, investor presentations, earnings call scripts, and other materials).
  • Review/analyze sell-side research and financial models to track ratings, price targets, earnings estimates, and consensus.
  • Manage IR calendar and coordinate investor conferences/events/roadshows/1x1 meetings.
  • Coordinate quarterly earnings processes (timeline, cross-functional work, consensus analysis, briefing materials, logistics).
  • Prepare investor/analyst meeting briefings and summaries.
  • Maintain IR CRM database and investor targeting lists/records; support shareholder engagement.
  • Maintain IR website for disclosures/presentations/filings.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses (shareholder composition, targeting, stock performance, valuation, capital markets, financial modeling).
  • Evaluate/implement AI and automation to improve efficiency and execution.

Job description

  • Assist with external investor communications (press releases, investor presentations, earnings call scripts/Q&A, and other investor-facing materials).

  • Review/analyze sell-side research and financial models to track ratings, price targets, earnings estimates, and consensus.

  • Manage IR calendar and coordinate investor conferences/events/roadshows/1x1 meetings.

Skills/Experience


  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint (financial modeling, data analysis, executive presentations).

  • FactSet/Bloomberg/Visible Alpha/S&P Global/Nasdaq IR Insight or similar.

  • Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for research/content/workflow automation.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements/SEC filings/capital markets and valuation methodologies.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication; organized; confidential/sound judgment; non-remote onsite in San Diego.
