Provides a combination of industry sector expertise and innovative thinking in a team-based approach across a full suite of products including M&A, ECM, and DCM/Leveraged Finance.

  • Collaborates to generate tailored solutions for prospective and current clients, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service

  • Develops written internal and external marketing on pitch materials and supports deal teams in a variety of processes to win mandates

  • Presents analytical findings to deal teams and supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

  • Researches and analyzes company and industry financial and operating information to perform complex financial modeling and valuation analysis as part of client asks and industry evaluations

  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting

  • Creates statistical exhibits and financial performance trend analyses for internal use and clients

  • Applies technical concepts and understands implication of work to client/transaction

  • Participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behavior; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels

  • Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures

  • Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions, exercising judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems

  • Opportunities for upward mobility following strong track record of performance

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience within investment banking or a related field
  • An undergraduate degree with outstanding academic achievement in a related field of study, with coursework in finance, economics, or accounting preferred

  • Financial analysis training and experience

  • Expertise in using financial applications such as FactSet, Bloomberg, Excel and comfort around building complex financial models

  • Shows initiative, prioritizes work, multi-tasks effectively

  • Strong ability to review and assess detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a demanding team environment with strong interpersonal skills

  • Displays curiosity about the sectors and projects with a strong desire to learn

  • Strong verbal/written communication and analytical skills

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
