Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Analytics or related field
• Expected graduation Dec 2027–May 2028
• GPA 3.0+
• Live within commutable distance from NYC or Bethesda, MD office
• Hybrid schedule; three days per week in office
• Proficiency in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Power BI
• Experience with or interest in Workday Financials
• Ability to work independently in a changing team environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver timely results
• Knowledge of GAAP reporting preferred

Job description

Participate in GEICO’s paid 10-week summer Analyst Internship Program within the CFO Organization
Gain exposure across the Controllers group through analyst project work in Financial Reporting, Reconciliations, and Tax
Work on significant analyst projects
Attend meetings and give presentations to senior management
Learn GEICO Finance and operations, including supported systems, data, and integration points
Develop analytical, project management, communication, and analyst business acumen skills
Contribute to financial processing innovation and transformation
Partner with business stakeholders to analyze results and recommend future investment decisions
Receive mentoring and coaching from CFO Organization management
Participate in professional development and social events
Interact with associates at all levels of the Finance organization, including the CFO

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required for Controllers track), Finance, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, or other relevant analytical or FinTech major
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and May 2028
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Demonstrated interest in Finance through relevant internship experience, student or business organizations, relevant certifications, advanced coursework, or other field engagement
• Must live within commutable distance from the New York City or Bethesda, MD office
• Must work a hybrid schedule, including three days per week from the office
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, or similar tooling
• Technical aptitude and experience with or desire to learn financial systems such as Workday Financials
• Ability to work independently given general direction and thrive in a changing team environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities and provide accurate, timely results
• Effective time management, attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
• Knowledge in GAAP reporting preferred
