Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking an entry level Index Analyst to support ICE Data Indices.

You will collect, validate and analyze market data and index components to support product development and client inquiries. Responsibilities include accurate index calculation and publication, aiding globalization efforts, and assisting in integrating legacy products onto new technology while maintaining data quality.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in quantitative disciplines such as Mathematics, Finance or Sciences.
• 2+ years of experience in financial and/or market data.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous data handling.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Word; ability to write Python and VBA macros.

Responsibilities

• Perform data collection, validation and analysis for ICE Data Indices products.
• Support index calculation and publication of intraday and end-of-day values; deliver files to clients.
• Assist in globalization efforts for equity index coverage and product integration onto new tech stack.
• Research corporate actions affecting constituents using vendor data and filings.

Job Purpose

The index analyst role is an entry level position that supports the ICE Data Indices business. Analysts assist senior colleagues in collecting, validating and analyzing market and analytic financial instrument and index data to support index product development and maintenance and to respond to client inquiries.

The index analyst role is an entry level position that supports the ICE Data Indices business. Analysts assist senior colleagues in collecting, validating and analyzing market and analytic financial instrument and index data to support index product development and maintenance and to respond to client inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Index Calculation / Publication - Ensure accurate calculation of all intraday and End of Day Index Values, and accurate, complete, and timely delivery of all Index product files to internal and external clients
• Serve as key resource in globalization efforts of our equity index business and coverage
• Drive product integration and streamlining efforts bringing legacy product onto new tech stack
• Research and validation of corporate actions impacting constituents of equity indices by consulting vendors, filings, and exchange sources
• Responsible for maintaining production quality on current products while assisting in the onboarding of new indices, products and processes
• Verify daily index and security-level pricing and analytics data; research and determine the appropriate disposition of identified exceptions
• Prepare report templates, with standard charts and data tables, for regular research publications
• Work with clients to understand their needs, escalating and prioritizing issues/questions, and reverting back in a timely and comprehensive fashion.
• Collect data and prepare analyses in support of ad-hoc client requests

Knowledge And Experience

• Undergraduate degree in quantitative discipline i.e. Mathematics, Finance, Sciences
• 2+ years’ experience in the financial and/or market data industry
• Basic knowledge of corporate actions, financial instruments and markets is a plus but not required provided the candidate demonstrates strong basic skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Advanced Excel, Word and familiarity with Office Suite. Must have experience in writing Python and Visual Basic macros
• Strong analytic mindset with ability to piece separate processes as part of greater whole
• Fluent in English; additional languages are helpful but not required
• Must be able to work on some holidays
