The Job

  • Analyze transaction and user data to substantiate STR narratives, ensuring findings are well-documented and audit-ready.
  • Track STR filing deadlines across jurisdictions and elevate time-sensitive cases to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting timelines.
  • Partner with Transaction Monitoring, Compliance, CDD/EDD teams, and any relevant team to gather supporting evidence and confirm reportability determinations.
  • Maintain accurate STR logs and filing metrics to support internal audit and regulatory examination readiness.
  • Provide quality feedback to peers on STR narrative writing and reportability assessments, supporting consistency across the team.
  • Stay current on evolving STR/SAR filing requirements and financial crime typologies, incorporating changes into daily reporting practice, and escalating as appropriate.

You

  • 2-5 years experience in regulatory/STR reporting, financial crime investigations, transaction monitoring, or compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent supplemental work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Looker, SQL, Excel) and transaction monitoring or case management systems.
  • Working knowledge of AML, KYC, and sanctions regulations, and STR/SAR filing requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Strong narrative writing skills, with the ability to translate complex transaction data into clear, regulator-ready filings.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data and regulatory guidance into sound, well-documented filing decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Fluency in English and one of either: Spanish, French, German, or Italian.
  • Strong ethical standards and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or equivalent are a plus.
  • Direct experience filing STRs/SARs with FinCEN or an equivalent regulator/FIU.
  • Familiarity with machine learning or AI-driven tools for fraud detection and their attendant regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing regulatory deadlines under pressure.
