Job summary

VRC is a full-service, independent valuation firm offering valuation and advisory services since 1975. This role supports the financial reporting practice by assisting with business valuations, purchase price allocations, impairment testing and equity compensation valuations, with exposure to international tax restructuring valuations.

The position involves research, data collection, and building valuation models, plus preparing client reports and presentations for a wide range of industries.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years’ work experience in a financial analysis role.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written/verbal communication.
  • Progress towards ASA, CFA, or ABV designations is a plus.
  • Working/advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Self-starter with ability to master new tasks quickly.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet critical due dates.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on clients, competitors, industry and capital markets, including market multiples and comparable ratios.
  • Build, modify and utilize financial models for equity, business enterprise and intangible asset valuation.
  • Gather and document pertinent data obtained through client interaction.
  • Assist in the valuation of interests across various industries using qualitative information and quantitative models.
  • Assist in preparing formal client reports and presentation materials.

About this role:

This position in our financial reporting practice works on a variety of projects to assist more senior personnel with valuation assignments, which include business valuations, purchase price allocations (ASC 805), impairment testing (ASC 350 / 360) and equity compensation (ASC 718/IRC 409A). This position will also have exposure to valuations for international tax restructuring purposes.

What you will do:
  • Conduct research on clients, competitors, industry and capital markets, including market multiples and comparable ratios
  • Build, modify and utilize financial models for equity, business enterprise and intangible asset valuation using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Gather and document pertinent data obtained through client interaction
  • Assist in the valuation of certain interests across a wide range of industries using relevant qualitative information and through the application of proprietary quantitative valuation models
  • Assist in preparing formal client reports and presentation materials
What you will need:
  • 0-2 years’ work experience in a financial analysis role. Prior M&A experience at a valuation firm or public accounting firm is a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Any coursework in valuation, financial statement analysis is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Progress towards ASA, CFA, or ABV designations is a plus
  • Working/advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Self-starter with the ability to master new tasks quickly
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle dynamic, time-sensitive engagements in a team setting
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work flexible hours around critical due dates
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

$63,000 - 80,000 .The base salary offered at the time of hire is only a portion of total compensation and may differ from the stated range. It could be higher or lower depending on various factors, including the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the specific service line and location for the position. In addition to base pay, a meaningful portion of total compensation is paid as quarterly profit-sharing compensation, which has historically ranged from 20- 30% of base pay.
