Job summary

Avelo Airlines is seeking an FP&A Analyst in Houston to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. This high-visibility role will work directly with the CEO and CFO to prepare materials for the Board of Directors and influence strategic decisions.

You will build financial models, develop KPIs, and analyze variances, presenting findings to senior management and partnering with department leaders on long-term planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with complex formulas and large models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Excel-based financial models.
• Support the annual budget, short-term forecasts, and the 5-year financial plan, including revenue, expense, and cash flow projections.
• Develop and track KPIs that measure business performance.
• Analyze budget and forecast variances and share recommendations with senior management.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Help prepare financial analysis and presentation materials for the Board of Directors.
• Meet regularly with the CEO and CFO to walk through results and support key business decisions.
• Partner with department leaders on budgets, strategic initiatives, and long-term planning.
• Complete ad-hoc analysis and business cases for special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred


• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and building large models from scratch


• Solid understanding of accounting and financial planning principles


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail


• Ability to work independently and dig into complex data


• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting to senior leaders and explaining financial results to non-finance audiences
