Job description


  • Lead development, integration, and documentation of structural fatigue and fracture requirements

  • Verify structural integrity using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle

  • Develop structural environments, characteristics, and performance analyses

  • Lead development of test plans and configurations

  • Support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components

  • Define and document certification and test results for customers and regulatory agencies

  • Support in-service products by leading failure investigations and analyzing improvements

  • Develop analytical processes and tools to improve development effectiveness, quality, and efficiency

  • Plan and execute tasks within internal and external customer schedule constraints

  • Work under minimal direction

  • Support current and emerging aircraft programs in Boeing Defense, Space & Security's Air Dominance division


Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, focused on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences

  • Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • 2+ years of working with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis

  • 1+ years of experience with Spectrum Generation

  • 1+ years of experience with full-scale testing and/or other structural and material testing plans

  • 1+ years of experience with application of classical stress intensity solutions

  • 1+ years of experience with PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck, NASGRO, AFGROW

  • Experience writing technical reports

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required

  • Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance required post-start

  • Some positions may require Special Program Access; U.S. Citizenship required

  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
