Job summary

The United Illuminating Company (UI) is seeking an Analyst - DG to analyze and improve the Distributed Energy Resources interconnection process, coordinating with customers and engineering services as required by state regulations and company policy.

The position reports to the Manager – Projects Units in the Projects group and combines field and office work to enhance cycle time, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction across the entire process.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in performing analytics.
  • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with spreadsheets.
  • Strong written and verbal communications using MS Office.
  • Must be self-directed with initiative and able to lead people and teams.
  • BS/BA Degree in a related analytic discipline or Business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as central point of contact for Distributed Energy Resources applications across engineering, operations, and departments, from initial application to final interconnection.
  • Analyze, design, and implement improvements related to cycle time, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives to resolve moderately complex interconnection issues.
  • Support the company’s goals of having a best-in-class Distributed Energy Resources process.
  • Review interconnection agreements and coordinate activities to meet contractual obligations.

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $87,600 - $109,500.

Job Summary

Responsible for analyzing and improving all facets of the Distributed Energy Resources interconnection process using appropriate management systems and measurement programs that are responsive to the installation of distributed energy resources interconnections. Coordinate with customers and facilitate any required engineering services and associated management in accordance with good business practices, Company policy and procedures, and State Regulations or Guidelines.


The position reports to the Manager Projects Units in the Projects group and consists of combination of both field and office work.


Key Responsibilities


  • Serve as the central point of contact and facilitate Distributed Energy Resources applications within UI including engineering disciplines, operations, and all associated departments from the initial application to final interconnection.

  • Analyze, design, and implement continuous improvements related to cycle time, cost, and customer satisfaction through process changes across the entire Distributed Energy Resources process.

  • Work directly with appropriate customer representatives to coordinate work and resolve moderately complex interconnection issues.

  • Perform activities toward the Company’s goals of having a best‑in‑class Distributed Energy Resources process.

  • Analyze and review all completed Distributed Energy Resources interconnection agreements and coordinate operational activities required to ensure contractual obligations between the Company and interconnecting customer are maintained.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, revising monthly cash flow, and preparing variance analysis in terms of actual expenditures, baseline, and original budget.

  • Prepare invoicing for interconnection projects.

  • Provide metrics regarding group performance on a routine basis.


Required Qualifications


  • Five years of experience in performing analytics, with experience in the related subject matter preferred.

  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to use spreadsheets or similar programs.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to use the MS Office Suite.

  • Must be self-directed and have demonstrated initiative as well as the ability to lead people and teams.

  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited college/university in a related analytic discipline including, but not limited to Liberal Arts, Social Science, Computer or other Technical related field, or Business.BS/BA Degree


Preferred Qualifications


  • GIS & SAP experience

  • Familiarity with the distributed generation interconnection process as well as regulatory requirement is a plus, but not required.
