Position Summary

The Analyst, Commercial Finance & Distributor Strategy supports the Commercial organization by helping build and manage the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), driving the commercial forecasting process, and NSV/KPI performance tracking by state and distributor to maximize profit and deliver against AOP commitments. This role provides data-driven analysis and recommendations to optimize depletions and shipments, strengthen distributor performance management, and improve cross-functional decision making.

Partners closely with Sales, Operations/Demand Planning, and Finance, the analyst will assist in developing standardized reporting and planning/forecasting processes, supports distributor meeting preparation and internal QBRs, and helps resolve operational issues that impact plan delivery.

Role & Responsibilities
AOP Planning, Forecasting & KPI Management
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, and Brand/Marketing to support the development, consolidation, and distribution of the annual AOP by brand and state.
  • Build and maintain KPI reporting that enables performance tracking versus AOP (depletions, shipments, mix, pricing, and key drivers).
  • Provide data-driven analysis using internal and external sources to inform short- and long-term KPI targets for Sales, Brand, and Marketing teams.
Allocation & NPD Forecasting Ownership
  • Support the allocations and Stage gate 3 (SG3) NPD forecasting process in partnership with Commercial and Brand/Marketing teams.
  • Support launch readiness planning by ensuring forecasts are aligned across functions and reflected in planning tools and reporting cadences.
Distributor & Business Performance Insights
  • Provide business insights and analytics to support distributor meetings, scorecards, and internal QBRs, translating data into clear actions and priorities.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend solutions to manage shipments and depletions, improve execution, and mitigate risks.
Reporting, Tools & Process Improvement
  • Support in managing standardized reporting/forecasting tools and repeatable processes that improve decision quality internally and enable stronger distributor dialogue externally.
  • Improve visibility to performance drivers through clear definitions, consistent methodology, and user-friendly outputs.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as needed to support commercial priorities.

Success Measures
  • AOP accuracy and adoption: AOP materials are delivered on time, with clear assumptions and minimal rework; stakeholders consistently use outputs as the planning baseline.
  • Forecast credibility: Forecasts (including NPD and allocations) are accurate and trusted, with variance drivers clearly explained and actions defined.
  • KPI visibility and action: KPI reporting is standardized, timely, and decision-ready—enabling faster identification of performance risks and opportunities by brand/state.
  • Distributor readiness: Distributor meeting materials and QBR insights are clear, fact-based, and drive productive discussions, decisions, and follow-up actions.
  • Process improvement: Reporting and planning cycle times decrease through better templates/tools; manual rework and definition disputes decline.
  • Cross-functional impact: Role is viewed as a proactive partner who resolves issues, improves alignment, and strengthens how the commercial organization operates.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of finance experience (Prior experience in FP&A, sales / commercial finance or alcohol beverage industry experience a plus)
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including ability to formulate business strategy.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to make quick, calculated decisions, follow through with responsibilities and be accountable for results.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with Nielsen / NABCA, SAP or Tableau a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed and willingness to work in the Jersey City, NJ office three/ four days per week.

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $85,100 - $97,500 you can use this for the pricing manager along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
