Job description

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are more than 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role description

Arcadis is seeking an Analyst to join our U.S.-based Climate and Sustainability Advisory team. As an Analyst, you will support the delivery of client-facing sustainability consulting projects across a range of industries and topics, including greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, sustainability reporting, climate risk, decarbonization strategy, target setting, and broader sustainability program development. You will work closely with experienced consultants and subject matter experts to conduct research, analyze data, prepare client deliverables, and contribute to the successful execution of projects.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a passion for sustainability, strong analytical capabilities, and an interest in developing consulting skills. You will gain exposure to leading sustainability frameworks, corporate sustainability challenges, and a diverse portfolio of clients while building a foundation in project delivery, technical analysis, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability strategy.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and an ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. They will be comfortable working with data, managing multiple assignments, collaborating across teams, and producing high-quality work in a consulting environment.

This hybrid role can be located in either Chicago, Washington DC, or New York City.

Role accountabilities

In this role, you will support the delivery of sustainability advisory projects across a range of areas, including greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, climate risk, sustainability strategy, voluntary and regulatory sustainability and ESG reporting, target setting, decarbonization planning, and net zero strategy. You will conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of sustainability data, including GHG emissions, energy consumption, climate-related risks, sustainability metrics, and industry benchmarks. You will also collect, organize, validate, and analyze client and industry data using Excel and other analytical tools, while conducting research on sustainability regulations, reporting frameworks, industry trends, emerging standards, and best practices.

You will contribute to the development of client presentations, reports, technical memoranda, and other project deliverables, ensuring work products are accurate, high quality, and consistent with project requirements and Arcadis standards. You will manage assigned tasks against project schedules and budgets and communicate progress, challenges, and potential risks to project managers and technical leads.

As you build your consulting capabilities, you will participate in client meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities and collaborate with Arcadis colleagues across sustainability disciplines, business units, and geographies. You will also support proposal development, business development research, and sales activities as needed, while participating in training, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning opportunities to expand your technical expertise.
