Job description

Brio Real Estate is a Blackstone Real Estate portfolio company focused on real estate credit. Brio supports Blackstone’s Real Estate Debt Strategies(“BREDS”) investments across the globe. The company provides support across key functions, including corporate, transaction, and management services. The critical infrastructure and capabilities Brio provides for BREDS allows for effective support in the management of its global portfolio.

Today, BREDS has more than $76 billion of investor capital across high yield / opportunistic real estate credit funds, a publicly traded Mortgage REIT, and liquid securities strategies. BREDS is part of Blackstone Real Estate, the largest owner of commercial real estate globally, owning and operating assets across every major geography and sector.

Role Purpose:

The Analyst of Capital Markets will assist the global BREDS capital markets team in the oversight and management of the liability side of the BREDS investment portfolio. The hire will help manage the asset level financings and ongoing management related to BREDS’ CRE loan credit facility complex, which spans across Opportunistic and Core+ capital sources for commercial real estate debt. This external-facing role requires interaction with existing and potential financing counterparties and demands a proactive approach in managing tasks such as soliciting financing quotes, closing and ongoing management of financings, and various tracking and reporting of BREDS’ liabilities

What you will do:
  • Acquire deep knowledge of the US loan financing markets and support the BREDS capital markets team in developing and executing financing strategies for BREDS’ pipeline of loan originations
  • Assist in the sourcing of financing quotes for credit facility financings, through managing a coordinated outreach effort to banks and other financing counterparties, following up as necessary, and tracking and evaluating all feedback received
  • Helping develop and manage financing relationships
  • Assist in the preparation of materials used to market transactions
  • Assist in the negotiation of financing terms and transactions in coordination with BREDS capital markets and external counsel
  • Assist in the execution and closing of transactions, including drafting Confirmation Statements, providing diligence materials to financing counterparties, and coordinating closing and funding logistics
  • Ongoing management of transactions, including identifying and managing positions that require refinancing or amending, coordinating discussions with lenders prior to issues arising, and analyzing financing documents to ensure accurate implementation
  • Help improve our processes and tools to create efficient storage and access to financing data, generating and maintaining regular ongoing reporting and tracking of financing pipelines and activity, terms, and counterparty exposures
  • Coordinate across BREDS and BRIO investment, asset management, finance, operations and legal teams in executing the above responsibilities
What you should have:
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in real estate finance, real estate capital markets or related fields
  • Ability to project manage and execute a wide range of assignments
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team, maintaining always a collaborative approach
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to meet competing deadlines
  • Self-starter, highly organized, and detail oriented
  • Ability to juggle multiple workstreams and priorities
  • Strong analytical aptitude and strategic problem solving skills
  • Interest and experience in using new technologies to optimize processes
  • Strong maths and excel proficiency
