Maximus looking for a Remote Business Analyst to join our Department of Education portfolio. This candidate will be able to facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate requirements, process design, and business intelligence (reporting) needs. This individual understands business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and determine business requirements and define processes, including clarification on any requirement discrepancies.
  • Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
  • Extract, tabulate, and analyze data to support program activity and assist management with decision making.
  • Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to new processes, functionalities, and/or proposed solutions.
  • Process all Production Support Requests by receiving defect reports and cross-referencing the defect with the business requirements.
  • Experience working with database tracking tools
  • Working knowledge MS Office Suite, and MS Outlook
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, time, and resource management skills
  • Ability to work remote while remaining focused and dedicated to the job responsibilities.
  • Assist in reviewing technical solutions documents
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Comfortability with individual and group training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong troubleshooting/analytical skills
  • Student Loan and financial processing experience knowledge preferred
  • Analysis of TOP and AWG payment processes and review
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
  • At least three (3) years of related experience required

Additional Requirements per Contract/Client:

  • Must reside in the U.S.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Check.
  • Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.
  • Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.
  • Obtaining and Maintaining a PIV-I card is a requirement of this position.

PIV-I cards must be picked up in person. New and existing employees may need to travel via car, train, or plane to a designated location to pick up their new or replacement PIV-I card. Any travel expenses will be paid for by Maximus.

Home Office Requirements:

  • Hardwired internet (ethernet) connection
  • Internet download speed of 25mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net )
  • Private work area and adequate power source

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
