Job summary

Atlas Tech is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System Engineering Technician in Groton, CT. This full-time role supports submarine modernization efforts and DoD/Navy procedures.

You will perform engineering evaluations, calibrations, testing, and provide on-site interface with customers during system installation and testing. Travel up to 10% is required and security clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment and Windows servers/workstations.
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and adaptability.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and ride on a boat/submarine during testing.
• Technical/military/trade education beyond high school with at least 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering task support for installation, maintenance, repair, testing of the AN/BYG-1 system.
• Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
• Assist with testing and evaluations; perform validations/verifications of the AN/BYG-1 Combat System.
• Assist in disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System.
• Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs).
• Develop data for PMS, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, and maintainability improvements.
• Be the on-site customer interface for equipment installation, testing, survey and related tasks.
• Review engineering documentation standards, plans, specs and test procedures; assess change proposals.

We are looking for a talented "AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System Engineering Technician" to support ongoing submarine modernization efforts. This is a full-time position working out of Groton, CT.

The Engineering Technician will perform technical evaluations and required corrective actions for the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System in accordance with DoD and U.S. Navy Maintenance Procedures, and Cyber System instructions.

You Will

• Provide support in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, operation of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System in accordance with engineering specifications
• Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
• Assist with testing and evaluations; perform validations/verifications of the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System
• Assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System
• Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI’s)
• Develop technical and/or engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS), technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
• Be the direct on‑site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
• Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts

You Have

• U.S. Citizenship
• Possession of and the ability to maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Hands‑on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing computer networking equipment and Windows Servers and Workstations
• Self‑motivation, strong work ethic and commitment to quality and teamwork
• A passion for learning
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb up and down a ladder
• Must be able to ride on a boat or submarine during testing
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Education / Experience

• Technical (Military/Trade) school/training beyond high school and at least 5 years of job‑related experience

• U.S. Navy Combat Systems and network equipment experience
• AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System Experience
