Job summary

Atlas Tech is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to support the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System. This full-time role is based in Groton, CT, with up to 10% travel and exposure to DoD procedures.

You will perform evaluations, maintenance, testing, and on-site installation tasks in fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of related experience, DoD secret clearance, and hands-on networking and Windows server skills.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• DoD Secret level security clearance required.
• Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment and Windows servers/workstations.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing of the AN/BYG-1 system.
• Assist testing and evaluations; perform validations/verifications of the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System.
• Disassemble/reassemble, install and test the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System.
• Develop maintenance data, manuals, procedures, and maintainability improvements.
• Serve as on-site interface with customers for installation, testing, and survey tasks.
• Review engineering change proposals for equipment impacts.

Atlas Tech is a rapidly expanding company supporting the U.S. Military and other Government entities and we are seeking a passionate, flexible, and highly motivated team player to join our group of Technology professionals.

We are looking for a talented "AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System Engineering Technician" to support ongoing submarine modernization efforts. This is a full-time position working out of Groton, CT.

The Engineering Technician will perform technical evaluations and required corrective actions for the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System in accordance with DoD and U.S. Navy Maintenance Procedures, and Cyber System instructions.

Travel: up to 10%

You Will

• Provide support in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, operation of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System in accordance with engineering specifications
• Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
• Assist with testing and evaluations; perform validations/verifications of the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System
• Assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System
• Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI’s)
• Develop technical and/or engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS), technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
• Be the direct on‑site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
• Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts

You Have

• U.S. Citizenship
• Possession of and the ability to maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Hands‑on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing computer networking equipment and Windows Servers and Workstations
• Self‑motivation, strong work ethic and commitment to quality and teamwork
• A passion for learning
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb up and down a ladder
• Must be able to ride on a boat or submarine during testing
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Education / Experience

• Technical (Military/Trade) school/training beyond high school and at least 5 years of job‑related experience

• U.S. Navy Combat Systems and network equipment experience
• AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System Experience
