Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Agriculture, is seeking an Agricultural Regulatory Specialist I to inspect amusement rides and related attractions across Kentucky. The position operates from a home workstation with state-issued equipment and a state vehicle for inspections, with reports completed remotely.

Travel to sites is required within various counties, and the role expects occasional trainings in- and out-of-state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Learn the laws and regulations regarding amusement rides, inflatables and other attractions that are licensed by the Department.
• Learn to perform inspections on amusement rides.
• Travel to inspection sites in state-issued vehicle.
• Attend trainings both in-state and out-of-state.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Maintain equipment in good working order.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Prefer candidates with background in vehicle maintenance, mechanical hydraulics, pneumatics and/or electricity.
• Employee will be expected to climb to heights of 100 feet and work in cramped and close spaces.
