Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Ammunition Specialist to ensure accurate receipt, storage, documentation, and issuance of conventional ammunition, missiles, and related items. You may learn to maintain ordnance and related systems and potentially advance toward roles in munitions or weapons handling.

Training is provided, including Basic and Advanced Individual Training, with opportunities to apply skills in civilian roles later. Benefits and retirement programs accompany part-time service.

Qualifications

• Interest in algebra, chemistry, physics, geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Interest in planning and organizing.
• Work calmly under stress.

Responsibilities

• Operate stock control and accounting procedures using computer systems or manual records.
• Perform ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties using automated and manual procedures.
• Inspect weapon systems to determine need for repair or destruction.
