Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Ammunition Specialist responsible for the proper receipt, storage, documentation, and issuance of ammunition and related ordnance. You will learn to inspect, modify, and demilitarize various munitions and support nuclear weapons handling as part of your role.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid instruction and opportunities for tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or meet citizenship requirements
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, document, and issue conventional ammunition, guided missiles, large rockets, and related items
• Inspect weapon systems to determine need for repair or destruction
• Operate stock control and accounting procedures using automated or manual systems
