Job summary

Pilgrim is seeking a maintenance professional to oversee ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and related equipment. The role requires preventive maintenance, emergency repair work, and strong safety practices in a production environment.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, logging breakdowns, coordinating shutdowns, and collaborating with outside vendors. Must be comfortable reading English and using MS Office tools; on-site work with possible long hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• Hazmat team member with SCBA certification required.
• Experience in refrigeration or boiler rooms preferred.
• Operator 1 and Operator 2 experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functions.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good planning and prioritization skills.
• Safety minded and willing to work long hours/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and complete work orders and preventive maintenance paperwork.
• Log breakdowns and corrective actions taken.
• Schedule shutdowns without disrupting production.
• Maintain, repair, rebuild ammonia refrigeration and equipment.
• Isolate and pump down sections of systems safely.
• Perform routine maintenance on ammonia compressors, boilers, pumps, motors, etc.
• Follow lockout-tagout and OSHA 1910.119 PSM/RMP programs.
• Work with vendors and technicians in a professional manner.
• Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting as needed.
• Report to the B&R Maintenance Manager.
