Job summary

The Kroger Supply Chain in Houston, TX is seeking a maintenance specialist for ammonia systems to maintain equipment and procedures and support safety initiatives. You will monitor hazardous materials operations, inspect ammonia systems, and lead safety improvements.

A high school diploma and Ammonia Operator 1 certification are required, with 5+ years of maintenance and 4+ years in refrigeration. This is an on-site role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on refrigeration experience.
• Knowledge in electrical and general mechanical systems.
• Process Safety Management, (PSM) background.
• Ability to pass a physical and respirator fit test.
• Excellent analytical, communication and mechanical skills.
• 4+ years of continual ammonia (NH2) experience.
• Strong leadership experience in process controls and electrical field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation set and control points, as well as daily events related to hazardous materials and refrigeration.
• Conduct routine inspections of all ammonia systems an equipment.
• Comply with all department and company department and policies and procedures that will include a safe work environment.
• Lead and support safety changes.
• Partner with Maintenance supervisor to routinely inspect ammonia equipment for deficiencies and determine root cause.
• Operate ammonia equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Facilitate continuous on-site training.
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable.
