Job summary

SMSI, located in Springfield, United States, is seeking a Refrigeration Technician with ammonia refrigeration experience to support industrial plants. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and repair systems to ensure safe, continuous operation.

Weekend availability may be required to meet customer needs. The role requires 3+ years of field experience, knowledge of EPA regulations, and the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ammonia refrigeration experience or refrigeration experience.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• 3+ years of experience as a Refrigeration Technician in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of EPA regulations.
• Knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and compressors.
• Ammonia refrigeration troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and alteration of refrigeration systems and related equipment/facilities.
• Familiar with start-up and shut-down processes in production plants.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical components with the meter when equipment is down.
• Performs PMs, maintains all assigned equipment and systems, and ensures all systems are performing in a safe and functional manner at all times.
• Repairs and maintains all assigned systems/equipment throughout the plant and making sure they operate according to the required standards.
• Maintains and performs preventative maintenance activities and conducts repairs on all assigned systems/equipment.
