Job summary

A service-oriented company in Springfield is looking for a Refrigeration Technician to perform installation and maintenance of refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in an industrial environment, excellent troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems. Candidates must be able to work unsupervised and communicate effectively to resolve issues quickly. The role may require weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and alteration of refrigeration systems and related equipment/facilities
• Familiar with start-up and shut-down processes in production plants
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical components with the meter when equipment is down
• Performs PMs, maintains all assigned equipment and systems, and ensures all systems are performing in a safe and functional manner at all times
• Repairs and maintains all assigned systems/equipment throughout the plant and making sure they operate according to the required standards
• Maintains and performs preventative maintenance activities and conducts repairs on all assigned systems/equipment

Requirements

• Ammonia refrigeration experience or refrigeration experience
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with air compressors and associated control systems
• Good communication skills to ensure timely repairs of equipment and issues that arise
• 3+ years of experience as a Refrigeration Technician in an industrial environment
• Knowledge of EPA regulations
• Knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and compressors
• Ammonia refrigeration troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to work in a wide variety of temperatures
• Will be required to work weekends as needed to meet customer needs
