Job summary

Wells Enterprises, a Ferrero company, seeks a skilled technician to operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain major plant systems including ammonia, steam, compressed air, water, and liquid nitrogen cooling. The role includes hands-on tasks, safety compliance, and preventive maintenance across a large ice cream production facility in Le Mars, IA.

The position offers a starting hourly wage with a known progression path to higher rates and a night differential.

Qualifications

• One year of WDI Ice Cream Plant Refrigeration Experience.
• Must be able to follow SOPs and Mechanical Integrity/PSM programs.
• Basic knowledge with 3 phases 480V electrical components.
• Basic knowledge of electrical components like solenoids motors circuit boards and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, repair and complete daily tasks of a large plant ammonia system, including inspections, valve work, water treatment, pumps, and large system pump downs.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair and complete daily tasks of a large plant high pressure steam system, including boilers, DA tanks, steam traps, condensate tanks, pumps, and pump downs.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair and complete daily tasks of a large plant compressed air system, including compressors, air tanks, dryers, and pump downs.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair and complete daily tasks of a large plant water system, including softeners, filters, RO machines, and pump downs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on a large plant fire suppression system following codes.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic elevators following codes.
• Perform preventive maintenance on liquid nitrogen cooling system.
