Job summary

Schwan's Company is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment in a food manufacturing environment.

You will repair ammonia refrigeration systems, maintain boilers and condensers, and assist with installation of new equipment while strictly following safety protocols and OSHA requirements. Immediate vesting benefits and opportunities for advancement accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Experience in ammonia refrigeration environment is ideal.
• Knowledge of refrigeration maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment (air conditioners, compressors, evaporators, freon units).
• Perform repairs and overhauls on ammonia refrigeration systems, replacing motors, pumps, switches, safety controls, solenoids, fuses.
• Maintain boilers, evaporators, condensers, ensuring water treatment, airflow, and glycol pump operation.
• Assist with equipment setup/teardown and installation of new plant machinery.
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection; participate in Hazmat training.
