Job summary

General Mills in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to maintain and operate the site’s critical refrigeration and utility systems. The role features 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, with overtime and a night shift premium.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support safety programs, engaging with team peers to keep the plant running safely and efficiently. A technical background in industrial maintenance or HVAC is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience or Technical Trade Certification.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration preferred.
• Must meet HazMat and APR respirator requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration system and plant utilities.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct daily rounds of ammonia system and provide technical support.
• Participate in Process Safety Management initiatives.
• Assist in training new employees and root cause analysis.
