Job summary

Campbell's in Texas is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment and plant utilities in a high-volume food processing facility.

The role requires 3–5 years of ammonia refrigeration experience, HVAC training, electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to read schematics; you will document activities, maintain logs, and comply with GMP, safety, and USDA/FDA rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal ammonia refrigeration training by an accredited school; HVAC certification beneficial for entry-level apprentice positions.
• Requires 3-5 years in ammonia refrigeration in a high-volume food processing facility, preferably frozen foods.
• Electrical troubleshooting and schematic reading experience.
• Mechanical trade skills with required hand tools for maintenance tasks.
• Ability to plumb copper, plastic, tubing and threaded pipe for refrigeration and plant utilities.
• Ability to write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
• Excellent reading skills and ability to interpret varied instructions.
• Strong math skills including fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion; basic algebra.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel) and in-house computer system experience.
• Ability to interact with team members, customers and vendors professionally.
• Basic welding skills (arc, TIG, MIG).

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains ammonia refrigeration equipment; takes readings and adjusts systems to maintain safe parameters.
• Maintains all plant utilities and production floor freezers; adjusts temperatures to meet product requirements.
• Documents activities in daily logs and communicates with shift and production managers.
• Maintains HazMat and PSM certifications.
• Follows GMPs, safety rules, PPE, Lock Out-Tag Out, PSM and USDA/FDA regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
