Job summary

Yellowstone Local represents TDI Refrigeration and seeks an HVAC/R Technician to support customer operations in Phoenix, Arizona. You will service, maintain, and repair ammonia, industrial, and commercial refrigeration systems, diagnosing issues with specialized testing equipment.

With 2–3 years of HVACR experience and EPA 608 certification, you will work independently while collaborating with a skilled team.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of HVACR or related field experience.
• EPA 608 certification required; universal certification preferred.
• Trade school education or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills is a must.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime/on-call as needed.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting refrigeration systems, compressors, motors, and controls.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment is a plus.
• CARO or CIRO RETA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as an HVAC/R Technician in Phoenix, AZ.
• Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia, industrial, and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues with testing equipment.
• Service reciprocating, scroll, rotary, and screw compressors.
• Complete compressor rebuilds, motor alignments, shaft seal replacements, and preventive maintenance.
• Install expansion valves, control valves, and other refrigeration components.
• Install wiring and connect refrigeration equipment to power sources.
• Inspect piping, systems, and components for leaks.
• Perform startup, commissioning, and system optimization for ammonia systems.
• Diagnose issues involving control panels, PLCs, microprocessors, and automated control systems.
• Travel to customer locations and respond to service calls.
• Complete work orders, timecards, service documentation, and customer records using SimPRO.
• Generate purchase orders and maintain truck stock inventory.
• Keep the service vehicle clean, organized, and stocked.
• Provide professional customer service while protecting confidentiality.
• Handle assignments independently while collaborating with the team.
