Location: REMOTE (US based)

Role: Reporting to the Banks BSA Officer, the AML Team Leaders will ensure investigations comply with all BSA & OFAC requirements, and internal policies, while also mentoring junior investigators and driving continuous improvements in the bank's AML program.

Two Team Leaders are needed, one to manage the SAR team and one for the Investigations group, each department will likely manage 3-5 resources.

Responsibilities:

• Lead thorough and timely investigations into high-risk customer activity and complex transaction patterns flagged through transaction monitoring systems, referrals, or other alerts.
• Review and assess case files for potential SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) filings; draft, quality-check, and file SARs with FinCEN in accordance with regulatory timelines.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for junior analysts and investigators on complex AML cases.
• Identify trends, typologies, and emerging risks to proactively recommend enhancements to investigative procedures and internal controls.
• Provide training, coaching, and oversight to junior staff to support skill development and improve investigation quality.
• Support regulatory and internal audit examinations by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Maintain a deep understanding of relevant AML laws and regulations, and ensure all work is completed in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
• Participate in periodic quality assurance reviews of case investigations and SARs to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in BSA/AML investigations within a banking environment.
• A Professional Certification (CFE, CFCI, CFCS, CAMS, or other compliance certification), is strongly preferred.
• People management experience is required, ideally in a remote setting.
• Experience with FinTech, BaaS all cannabis banking, is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with AML case management and transaction monitoring systems (e.g., Actimize, Verafin, BAM+, SAS, or similar).
• Strong working knowledge of Fraud, BSA, AML, OFAC, FinCEN guidance, and regulatory expectations.
