Job summary

City of Dothan seeks an experienced Electric Operations Project Manager to lead AMI initiatives and related utility improvements. You will oversee RFP development, vendor selection, contract execution, and project budgeting while coordinating with vendors, crews, and city departments.

The role requires knowledge of AMI, SCADA, GIS, and regulatory codes, plus strong project management skills and data integrity discipline. On-site work with some emergency restoration support is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field and 3 years' relevant experience.
• Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field and 5 years' relevant experience.
• AMI experience preferred (1 year).
• Experience with ACLARA, SCADA, GIS mapping, and utility CIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project from RFP to implementation, including vendor evaluation and contract negotiation.
• Oversee day-to-day AMI system operations; ensure contract compliance and data integrity; perform repairs as needed.
• Lead integrations with geospatial, outage management, and customer information systems; perform data conversions and reporting.
• Coordinate power purchases and cost adjustments; prepare analyses and related reports.
• Oversee pole attachment program; process requests and manage NJUS tickets and work orders.
• Maintain PCB and Used Oil programs; manage records, EPA reports, and inspections.
• Support engineering staff and assist in restoration after weather events.
• Perform related duties as required.
