Southern California Edison is seeking an AMI 2.0 Advisor to shape and implement business processes for its transformative metering program in Pomona, CA. The role focuses on bridging business operations with IT capabilities to deliver reliable grid services and an enhanced customer experience.

You will lead cross-functional teams, capture requirements, and ensure alignment with new system capabilities while guiding analysts and presenting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of business operations and/or transformation experience.
• Business process design and requirements capture for large system implementations.
• Electric utility industry experience preferred.
• Advanced metering infrastructure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to secure buy-in for fit-to-standard and custom solutions.
• Leads cross-functional teams to implement and integrate business software and systems.
• Leads implementation workshops and other forums to gather, synthesize, and validate information, ensuring a robust understanding of existing business processes and requirements.
• Identifies inefficiencies and bottlenecks and areas for improvement in procedures during implementation.
• Challenges the status quo and recommends practical solutions aligned with implementation goals.
• Analyzes and synthesizes data and process flows, presenting key findings to stakeholders.

AMI 2.0 brings together professionals across engineering, technology, operations, cybersecurity, customer service, and program management to deliver innovative solutions that enhance grid reliability, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the customer experience. The AMI 2.0 Business Process Design (BPD), Advisor will leverage consulting teams and/or independently develop “future state” business processes and capture associated business requirements with stakeholder input and facilitate on time review and approval of these critical program artifacts. Assignments may include identifying improvement opportunities for critical existing processes (e.g. billing, outage management) and/or defining unprecedented, advanced capabilities (e.g. proactive asset replacement, DER orchestration for grid capacity utilization). The AMI 2.0 Business Process Design (BPD), Advisor will facilitate negotiation of potential process/requirement changes as AMI 2.0 technology is assessed and integrated, andintegrated and will be responsible for maintaining traceable requirements through such changes.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to provide support for key decisions and to secure buy-in for fit-to-standard and custom solutions developed to meet business needs.
• Leads cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of business operations software and systems, ensuring that business requirements are met for assigned business process area.
• Leads implementation workshops and other forums to gather, synthesize, and validate information, ensuring a robust understanding of existing business processes and requirements.
• Conducts thorough evaluations during the implementation phase to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in current procedures.
• Challenges the status quo, drives transformational change, and recommends practical solutions that align with implementation goals.
• Analyzes and synthesizes data and process flows, incorporating best practices to support the implementation strategy. Makes informed recommendations or decisions based on this analysis and presents key findings to stakeholders.
• Designs and documents future state business processes and requirements that align with the new system capabilities.
• Collaborates with technical team experts to enhance processes, including performing comprehensive user integration testing. Provides functional guidance and supervision to analysts.
• Builds relationships and interacts with peers, managers, system integration (SI) partners, directors, and all levels of leadership to achieve implementation objectives.
• Prepares and delivers executive-level presentations and supports other work activities that align with project milestones.
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Additional Information

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
