Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking an IT Project Manager for its AMI 2.0 Program to manage the deployment of next-generation smart meters and related IT systems. This hybrid role requires overseeing project budgets, methods, and outcomes while driving process improvements and supporting SCE's clean energy goals.

Responsibilities

• Manages the activities of one or more moderate to large, short to mid-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes.
• Exercises considerable latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverables.
• Decides appropriate methods, procedures for new projects with significant independence.
• Engages with all levels of management and acts as a key consultant for both functional and business issues. Manages complex user story decomposition, dependency mapping, and backlog prioritization.
• Analyzes velocity trends, quality metrics, and team capacity to forecast release plans.
• Drives process improvements by analyzing sprint metrics and refining ceremonies, workflows, documentation, and tools.
• Implements Agile software development practices including test‑driven development (TDD), pair programming, continuous integration, and refactoring.
• A material job duty ensuring the protection of all physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in IT project management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise IT solutions, including smart meter system implementation, enterprise system modernization, digital transformation programs, or large‑scale ERP implementations.
• Utility industry experience, ideally including smart meter and grid technologies.
• Demonstrated experience using various project delivery methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid‑Agile.
• Oversight and leadership of scope, schedule, budget, issues & risks – resource management.
• Demonstrated experience managing large systems integrators.
• Project Management and/or Agile Certification.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills collaborating with teams consisting of members across a variety of departments and disciplines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills to effectively communicate and interact with project team members and key stakeholders.

Additional Information

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California unless otherwise noted. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
