Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) Engineer to support and optimize factory automation. Responsibilities include hardware management, new AMHS projects, upgrades, installation through qualification, and data-driven issue remediation.

You will analyze system and history logs, ensure safety and cost improvements, and provide 24x7 support for critical installation projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
• 0–3 years of experience in automation engineering.
• AutoCAD certification or experience preferred.
• Examples of project management and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal customers, vendors and contractors to complete assigned projects.
• QA/QC of incoming equipment prior to acceptance.
• Coordinate parts shipping, receiving, storage, and staging.
• Oversee installation and validation of hardware and software upgrades.
• Communicate technical information (8D) to senior leadership.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and system performance analysis.
• Create standard recovery procedures and troubleshooting documentation.
• Provide 24x7 support for installation projects (on-call 7 days a month).

Position Summary

This role as an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) Engineer is responsible for supporting semiconductor factory automation.

The position is focused on hardware and management of new AMHS projects as well as upgrades / retrofits of existing AMHS equipment.

This position will own equipment installation through equipment qualification and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of safety, efficiency and cost. Additionally, this position also provide support for system operations and data analysis by using system/history logs to correct issues in a timely manner.

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $95,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
