Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead a 10–15 person team in a high-volume fab, driving safety, quality and output. The role follows a compressed 12-hour shift schedule (3-2-4) with cross-shift and occasional off-shift support.

You will strategy and execute production plans while collaborating with senior leadership to improve performance and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is required.
• 2+ years of inventory analysis, production control, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or project management experience.
• Semiconductor manufacturing experience is preferred.
• 3–5 years of prior management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal/external customers and senior management presentations.

Responsibilities

• Strategic: perform strategic inventory analysis and execute line management initiatives to optimize WIP, mitigate bottlenecks, and support on-time output and revenue fulfillment.
• Tactical: monitor high-priority production issues, partner daily with cross-functional teams to resolve WIP flow issues and support capacity planning.
• Administrative: lead a team of 10–15 manufacturing personnel, foster an inclusive, accountable team environment, and ensure effective cross-shift communication.

Position Summary

As a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Supervisor, you will lead a team of 10–15 specialists and technicians in a high-volume fab environment to ensure operational excellence in safety, quality, and output. You will be responsible for executing production strategies and collaborating across all organizational levels, from the shop floor to senior leadership, to drive success. A strong focus on leadership and accountability is essential to build high-performing teams and foster continuous improvement. This is a full-time role following a Compressed Work Week (CWW) schedule, consisting of alternating 3- and 4-day shifts (12 hours per day, Sunday–Tuesday and every other Wednesday), with occasional off-shift support as required.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Strategic

• PerformstrategicinventoryanalysisandexecutetargetedlinemanagementinitiativesthatoptimizeWIPflow,mitigatebottlenecks,andsupporton-timeoutputandrevenuefulfillment.
• Supportcontinuousimprovementinitiativesfocusedonenhancinglineefficiencyandreducingcycletime(DPML),contributingtokeyoperationalKPIsattheshiftandarealevel.
• Developanddelivercleartechnicalcommunications—includingonshiftescalationsandshiftissuesummaries—thattranslatefloor-levelinsightsintoactionablevisibilityforleadershipanddriveinformeddecision-making.

Tactical

• Monitorandrespondtohigh-priorityproductionissues—includingNPIdelays,lookaheadissues,DPMLconcerns,andoutputrisks—takingswiftcorrectiveactionandescalatingtomanagementwiththeappropriateurgencytoensuretimelyresolution.
• Partnerdailywithcross-functionalteams—includingProductOperations,CAPA,andFabEngineering&Supportteams.—toresolveWIPflowissues,supportcapacityplanningdiscussions,andalignontoolPM/BMstrategies.
• LeveragemanufacturingautomationsystemsanddigitaltoolstomonitorWIPflow,identifylineissuesinrealtimeanddrivedata-informeddecisionmakingtomaintainshiftperformanceandoperationalefficiency.

Administrative

• Leadanddevelopateamof10–15manufacturingpersonnel,includingperformanceevaluations,coaching,anddevelopmentplanningalignedwithFabgoalsandoperationalexcellencestandards.
• Activelyfosteraninclusive,accountableteamenvironmentbyidentifyingdevelopmentopportunities,recognizingperformance,andempoweringpersonneltogrowwithintheirrolesandadvancewithintheorganization.
• Communicateeffectivelyacrossalllevelsoftheorganization—fromfront-linemanufacturingpersonneltoseniorleadership—ensuringalignmentandtimelyinformationflowacrossshifts.
• Work hours: A Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays.

The current base salary range for this role is between $85,000- $135,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

This position may include access to controlled information or technology under U.S. export control laws.
