Job summary

St. Joseph's Helpers in Michigan is seeking a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Coordinator to strengthen volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, engagement, and retention.

You will develop standardized procedures, manage volunteer databases, and create resources that improve the volunteer experience while collaborating with SJH staff and other VISTAs throughout the service year. Program sites include Detroit, Ann Arbor and Flint.

Qualifications

• The Volunteer Coordinator VISTA will strengthen SJH systems for recruiting, onboarding, training, coordinating, and retaining volunteers.
• Organize volunteer applications and records, improve screening and background check procedures, develop orientation and training materials.
• Create tools for matching volunteers with appropriate opportunities and improve scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Improve volunteer databases and participation tracking.
• Support volunteer engagement and recognition activities and prepare updates and appreciation materials.
• Develop standardized procedures for recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
