Job summary

AmeriCorps Member Parent Specialist- HT (WFD) supports families by identifying employment opportunities that match participant interests and delivering Financial Empowerment Network workshops. You collaborate with the Workforce Development Specialist to recruit parent volunteers and mentor other parents as needed.

You plan adult/parent programs, track participation and expenses, and deliver 5-week resume and cover letter workshops as well as the Tech for Parents training.

Responsibilities

• Identify employment opportunities that align with participants' interests and abilities.
• Deliver workshops relating to the Financial Empowerment Network to families.
• Collaborate with WDS to recruit parent volunteers and mentor other parents.
• Maintain and report accurate participant and volunteer data and track expenses.
• Deliver 5-week workshops in resume building and cover letter writing; deliver Tech for Parents training.

Assist Parent Support Specialists in planning and preparing for adult/parent programs, as well as the associated logistics. Collaborate with the Workforce Development Specialist (WDS) to identify and recruit parent volunteers and provide guidance, coaching, and, when applicable, mentoring to other parents based on their social and employment needs. Maintain and report accurate participant and volunteer data (attendance, progress, completion) and track the program’s expenses for meals and supplies. Deliver 5-week workshops in resume building and cover letter writing. Deliver the Tech for Parents 5-week training class. Facilitate or co-facilitate parent programs.
