Job summary

Iowa Legal Aid AmeriCorps Project seeks dedicated members to support low-income Iowans across homeless prevention, benefits access, and legal education. You will assist with intake, research, document preparation, and outreach under attorney supervision, helping clients become more independent.

As bilingual capabilities enhance service, you may translate resources and provide interpretation for clients. Full-time AmeriCorps positions start Sep 2026 in multiple Iowa offices.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and writing skills.
• Experience or coursework in legal services is helpful.
• Interest in serving low-income communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with client services, including intake, research and witness/document preparation under attorney supervision.
• Support outreach and volunteer recruitment to expand service provision.
• Provide interpretation and translation to clients; translate self-help resources as needed.
