Job summary

Vista College Prep in Phoenix is seeking AmeriCorps Academic Fellows to provide tutoring and interventions at five campuses, aiming to help students surpass state averages in reading and math with targeted supports and supervised teaching interchange.

The program serves over 1,700 students, many from low-income backgrounds; Fellows work with teachers, support English Learners, and participate in events that reflect Vista’s commitment to excellence, joy in learning, and an inclusive community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or working toward one.
• AmeriCorps eligibility documentation.
• National Service Criminal History Check is required.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring small groups of students in reading and math.
• Running and/or supporting academic and behavioral interventions.
• Supporting academic and operational needs to increase teacher capacity.
• Participating in experiences to support AmeriCorps as a teacher pipeline.
• Supporting systems serving English Learners.
• Assisting with school-wide events and daily operations.
