American Sign Language (ASL) US-Based Interpreter

We are currently hiring interpreters for both VRI and onsite positions. An ASL interpreter provides sign language interpretation services in various settings, working with individuals who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, and/or oral. The role involves empowering individuals to advocate for themselves and their needs.

Candidate Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of interpreting experience (preferred, but not required)
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required)
• Interpreter certification
• Understanding of deaf culture, social experiences of deaf and hard of hearing persons, educational history, and current pedagogical trends
• Proficient computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling, internet
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Responsibilities:

• Interpret effectively between ASL and spoken English
• Maintain compliance with licensure and certification requirements
• Follow NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
• Complete tasks, projects, and paperwork accurately and promptly
• Learn and implement new technologies quickly
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment
• Willingness to undertake additional duties as needed

Additional Requirements:

• Computer or laptop with Windows 10 or higher
• Steady wired internet connection with minimum speeds of 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
