Job summary

ESS Clinical is seeking an ASL Interpreter for school-based settings in the Bloomington area. Roles can be full-time or part-time, with W2 status and benefits for eligible hours. Start date is August for the 2026-2027 school year, with typical school hours from Monday to Friday.

You will interpret classroom instruction, collaborate with teachers and support staff, and help students access education. Required: high school diploma; state certification/licensure; RID/NIC/EIPA preferred;

• Provide sign language interpretation services for students in educational settings
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and school-related activities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and support staff

Your Impact as an ASL Interpreter

As an ASL Interpreter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing have equal access to education. Your work helps students fully participate in classroom learning, communication, and school life while fostering an inclusive educational environment.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid state interpreter certification or licensure, where required
• National interpreter certification preferred when applicable (RID, NIC, EIPA, or state-approved credentials)
• Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred, but qualified interpreters from other settings are encouraged to apply
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
