Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Pyxis Systems & Storeroom Manager to oversee automated medication dispensing units (AMDU) operations in a hospital setting. You will coordinate AMDU installations, manage the console formulary, and ensure accurate inventory and regulatory compliance.

You will train hospital staff on AMDU systems such as Kitcheck and Pyxis ES, monitor usage and discrepancies, and supervise technicians and interns. A strong supervisory background in hospital pharmacy is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Prior AMDU and hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the installation of automated medication dispensing units (AMDU).
• Manages the console formulary for new medication and CDM numbers.
• Monitors AMDU inventory and expiration dates and adjusts contents.
• Generates narcotic usage and discrepancy reports and collaborates with nursing to reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitors AMDU usage for potential diversion and override reports for appropriateness.
• Trains hospital personnel in proper use of the AMDU and related software (e.g., Kitcheck, Pyxis ES).
• Develops and updates AMDU policies to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Oversees pharmacy technicians and interns assigned.
