Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH is seeking an Ambulette Driver to provide safe non-emergency transportation for ambulatory and wheelchair passengers. The role requires adherence to safety rules, professional presentation, and calm responses in emergencies.

The driver will keep the unit clean, assist patients as needed, and demonstrate care appropriate to the patient age. Lifting and mobility support may be required. Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• DOT physical certificate and CPR with First Aid certification required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ambulance service policies to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
• Transports ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to scheduled destinations.
• Operates ambulette safely and follows road laws.
• Interacts with passengers in a friendly manner.
• Performs CPR and/or basic first-aid as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Communicates with central dispatch via radio.
