Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY is hiring a clinical assistant to support providers during patient visits in the outpatient setting. Under nursing supervision, you will perform a variety of technical and information systems tasks to enhance patient care, comfort and safety.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse patient population. Evening/weekend shifts may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year customer service experience.
• At least 6 months health care experience providing direct patient care.
• BLS CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication; excellent customer service.
• Proficient with hospital information systems (eRecord, Outlook, Word).

Job Description

Under nursing supervision, assists providers during patient visits. Performs a variety of clinical tasks in support of patient care in the out-patient setting including a variety of technical, procedural and information systems tasks involving patient care functions affecting the comfort, care and safety of patients.

Salary Range

$19.06 -$25.72 an hour

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements

1. Education: High School diploma or equivalent of 1 year experience in customer focused service setting.
2. Experience (minimum required) At least 6 months of health care experience providing direct patient care and interaction with patients required.
3. License/Certification Required: American HeartAssociationBLS CPR Certification or acquire within 6 months after hire.
4. Skills: (to include equipment, software, etc.): Ability to work collaboratively and courteously with others. Must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with providers, staff, and patients. Must have well developed verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate exceptional care and concern for the patient. Must be attuned to the needs of a diverse population of patients.
5. Ability to use various hospital information systems (which may include, eRecord, Microsoft Outlook, Word.
