Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) Phase II pre-procedure area. This full-time day position offers 5:00am-1:30pm or 5:30am-2:00pm shifts, with no on-call and weekend rotation.

The 28-bed prep and 32-bed outpatient unit supports pediatric and adult post-op care, adjacent to OR and PACU. Responsibilities include pre-admission assessment, history collection, coordination with anesthesia, and direct patient care across age groups, aligned with Mercy

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• ACLs and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collect the patient's medical history from records.
• Coordinate the patient's needs with anesthesia department.
• Provide direct patient care for all age groups.
