Job summary

UChicago Medicine Crown Point is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for the Ambulatory Surgery Center, onsite. Under the PACU Charge RN, you will manage pre-admission, perioperative and postoperative nursing care, educate patients, and ensure privacy of PHI in HIPAA-compliant processes.

You will collaborate with physicians, supervise care team members, perform medication administration, and participate in huddles while maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN.
• Current RN license in Indiana.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians to assess and design patient care plans; monitor outcomes.
• Provide nursing care and document in electronic medical records.
• Pre-admission screening calls, review medical history, provide patient instructions and post-discharge follow-up.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians and staff; act as a preceptor.
