Job summary

You will perform preoperative assessments, prepare and maintain OR environments, and document care in the EHR while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient cases and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and graduates from an accredited nursing program.
• Michigan RN license currently active.
• OR circulating experience 1–2 years.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities for care planning.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Scrub knowledge is a plus.
• Must have operating room experience and a positive attitude.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive preoperative assessments and verifies protocols.
• Prepares and maintains OR environments and equipment.
• Serves as circulating nurse, manages patient positioning and counts.
• Adheres to infection control standards and sterile field protocols.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, techs to ensure workflow.
• Documents perioperative care and patient responses in EHR.
• Educates patients and families on pre- and postoperative care.
• Responds to emergencies with appropriate interventions.
• Supports quality improvement and ongoing education.
