Job summary

Texas Health Plano, part of Texas Health Resources, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care in the ambulatory surgery department. You will assist with data collection, care activities, and coordination with registered nurses in a fast-paced setting at the Plano campus.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a PCT training program, and BCLS certification; EMT or nursing student status is also acceptable. On-site orientation is required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited program or THR approved program.
• EMT or equivalent military medical training.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Adapts care reflecting patient population and cultural needs.
• Keeps patient environment clean and safe.
