Job summary

Fish Pond Surgery Center in Texas is seeking an RN PreOp/PACU to oversee patient care before and after surgery across multiple specialties. The center operates five OR rooms and one treatment room with a schedule that avoids holidays and weekends.

The RN will monitor patients, assist in sedation procedures, and ensure safety, comfort, and privacy during recovery, discharge planning, and family education. Must hold an active RN license and have PACU or critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with continual evaluation of condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate in preparation for discharge.
