Job summary

MedStar Health seeks an Ambulatory Quality Specialist to design, execute, and continuously improve quality initiatives across the ambulatory network. You will extract and translate performance data into actionable insights for practice teams and physician leadership.

Responsibilities include creating dashboards, monitoring NCQA/CMS updates, and supporting gap closure and value-based programs across sites. Travel to ambulatory practices may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors in health administration/public health/health information management or related field preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience

Responsibilities

• Extracts, validates, analyzes quality data from EHRs, registries, payer portals, and reporting systems.
• Monitors quality measure performance trends and identifies gaps and root causes.
• Develops dashboards, scorecards, and reports for leadership and practice managers.
• Tracks regulatory updates (NCQA, CMS, payer specs) and impact on workflows and reporting.
• Designs and implements targeted improvement plans with ambulatory sites.
• Supports care gap closure, patient outreach, and workflow redesign efforts.
• Participates in quality reporting for MIPS, APMs, and value-based programs.
• Represents quality initiatives in meetings with leadership and committees.
