Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care under physician and leadership supervision. The role requires applying nursing processes to evaluate and respond to patients’ needs and to document outcomes in the medical record.

The ideal candidate will have ADN or higher, Texas RN licensure, and BLS; Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of clinical experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with ADN or higher.
• RN licensure required by Texas board upon hire; BLS certification required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and 1 year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing interventions per medical plan of care.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Provide patient education and document responses.
• Obtain necessary consent for treatment and research.
• Triages phone inquiries per protocols and document in EMR.
• Supervise licensed vocational nurses and support staff.
• Maintain EMR documentation and participate in policy changes.
